If you want to get save money on your monthly print contract then you are going to want to consider how much you are paying for your prints. We are not talking about a per print costs, but instead the total that you are spending. This is an important distinction to make when getting the right amount of prints.
Many people pay more than they should for their monthly prints. This is because they are tricked into buying more than they should. You have a good idea of what you need, but then are talked into getting more than you need buy a sales person.
This process usually looks something like this:
You think you need 25,000 prints per month, but your leasing agent says you should get 30,000 just in case. They will even give you a discount on the prints. It may sound like a good deal until you do the math.
25,000 prints x $.015 per print = $375 per month
30,000 prints x $.014 per print = $420 per month.
Most people understand their businesses well so in this example this person is probably still using around the 25,000 prints. If this is the case then they are basically throwing $45 away every month.
This is an extremely common thing to see happen with copier leases. Trust your business instincts and be conservative with your number. You can always add more if you need to, and remember that paying for services that you use is always a better financial decision that paying for services that you don’t.
